Abstract

|
The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has responded to the possible importation of Zika virus by monitoring the recent global epidemiology and establishing the strategies for health education and quarantine toward travellers, as well as, case detection, diagnosis, treatment, and mosquito control. These accumulated experiences on implementation of preventable measures have reemphasized the importance of the proper surveillance systems and timely preparation of case management strategies. To be fully prepared for the persistence of the current situation and further importation of cases, it is essential to establish sustainable and effective management systems for disease control.
